I Will Follow The Prophet

Our church held its 178th Annual General Conference this past weekend. There were some really great talks given, I especially enjoyed and appreciated President Uchtorf's and Elder Hales' comments. A few weeks ago we (my ward's Primary presidency) planned a Primary activity called I Will Follow The Prophet. It was really fun and we had a fair turn out. The kids got to learn fun facts about the newly called First Presidency of the church, play games, sing songs, and best of all... Eat ice cream! The kids also got to write letters to the new First Presidency of the church, which I've mailed off to Salt Lake City along with some photos from the activity. We (actually my second counselor) also prepared conference activity packets for the kids to take home.

It was a really great conference, especially since we and everyone watching around the world had the rare opportunity to sustain a new Prophet of God in a solemn assembly. President Monson is now the President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints along with his two counselors President Eyring and President Uchtdorf.

The activity was a hit with the kids! I was showing a picture of the new first presidency to Hannah last week and she remembered that Henry B Eyering had broken his leg. I honestly thought it had all gone over her head. Peter can spout off all kinds of info he learned too.
